Young people have their say with Mousetrap theatre awards
The Mousetraps are voted for by hundreds of young theatregoers (aged 15-23) and are produced by Mousetrap Theatre Projects’ Youth Forum.
Among those collecting trophies were Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time writer Simon Stephens, who said:
“This is, by a distance, the most enjoyable awards ceremony I have ever
been to. This award means more to me than any award I’ve ever won.”
Accepting the prize for ‘Show that I Would Recommend to a Friend’, Wicked producer Michael McCabe said: “This is a charity that we really, really love. How great that a really
old play like The Mousetrap could give birth to such an incredibly
extraordinary charity as this one. I know it’s inspiring young people
but it’s inspiring quite a lot of late 40 year olds as well. I’m so
glad I came.”
