Arts Theatre hosts Dell’Olio’s Powder Room from 1 June

Nancy Dell’Olio‘s bio-play In The Powder Room will premiere with a six-week run from 1 June 2013 at the Arts Theatre.

According to press material, “the show will provide audiences with a fascinating look at the glamorous life of Nancy Dell’Olio, as she opens her heart about intimate details, her near fatal car crash and how she copes with life in the spotlight.”

As previously reported, In The Powder Room is being produced by Phil McIntyre Entertainments and directed by CJ Ranger

The action takes place while Dell’Olio is preparing for a night out. Other characters including her “dominating manager, her spiky personal assistant and a filmmaker who is documenting her life, as they help paint a picture of what a survivor this woman really is”.

Dell’Olio, who rose to fame following her relationship with England manager Sven Goran Eriksson, said: “I’m very excited to be embarking on another big new challenge and am pleased and proud to be taking to the West End stage in a show that I not only co-wrote but am co-producing as well.

“I really enjoyed the live performance aspect of Strictly, so I am very much looking forward to being in front of live audiences again.”

The plan is to transfer the show to a larger West End theatre and then a national tour following its run at the Arts.
