Aaron Sidwell replaces Sid Owen in 60s musical Carnaby Street

New casting has been announced for the forthcoming premiere of 60s jukebox musical Carnaby Street, which runs at Hackney Empire from 6 to 14 April 2013 before embarking on a UK tour.

Replacing the previously announced Sid Owen as band manager Jack is Aaron Sidwell, while Matthew Wycliffe plays Jude, the idealistic musician who travels down to London to follow his dream of stardom.

A former EastEnder like Owen, Sidwell’s theatre credits include Loserville – The Musical (West End). Wycliffe’s previous credits include Bob
Gaudio in the West End run of {Jersey
Boys::L629955680}
and the title role in Buddy.

Producer Carl Leighton-Pope said: “I’m incredibly excited and looking
forward to see this strong cast in rehearsals next week. Although we’re
disappointed that Sid has decided to remain in California, we’re
extremely happy to welcome Aaron and Matthew to Carnaby Street.”

Other cast members in Bob Tomson‘s production include
Verity Rushworth, Tricia Adele-Turner, Mark Pearce, Paul Hazel and
Hugo Harold-Harrison.

Following its run in Hackney Carnaby Street will visit venues including High
Wycombe, Rhyl, Hastings, Windsor, Tunbridge Wells, Manchester,
Lowestoft, Birmingham, St Albans and Bournemouth.
