Show Pics: Miller & Smith Launch Rattigan Flare

One of the year’s biggest plays, Trevor Nunn’s revival of Terence Rattigan’s Flare Path, opens at the Theatre Royal, Haymarket tonight (10 March 2011, previews from 4 March), inaugurating Nunn’s year-long stewardship of the venue.

The production stars Sienna Miller, who returns to the West End for the first time since 2005, alongside Sheridan Smith, fresh from her musical success in Legally Blonde, for which she recently won a Whatsonstage.com Award (she also
co-hosted the sold-out Concert at the Prince of Wales Theatre on 20 February).

Smith and Miller star alongside Rome’s James Purefoy, who plays a Hollywood film star in Rattigan’s 1942 play about a
wartime love triangle, inspired by the author’s own experiences during
the Second World War.

Flare Path, which runs until 4 June 2011, is produced by
Matthew Byam Shaw for Playful Productions, Tom McKitterick and the
Theatre Royal Haymarket Company in association with Act Productions Ltd.
