Sullivan Follows Grease with Flashdance???

Former Hear’Say singer Noel Sullivan, who is currently making his West End debut as Danny in Grease at the Piccadilly Theatre, has hinted he will star in Flashdance when it comes to the Shaftesbury Theatre in October (See News, 9 Mar 2010).

Sullivan created the role of love interest Nick Hurley during the screen-to-stage musical’s world premiere tour in 2008, and is hoping to reprise it for the forthcoming West End run.

In a recent interview with Whatsonstage.com, Sullivan said: “There’s a possibility I might be part of Flashdance in the West
End. I’d love to be part of that because I had an incredible time on
the tour creating the role and if I was part of an original West End
cast I’d feel like I’d really stamped myself on something.”

The former pop star, whose other theatre credits include Fame and Love Shack, also revealed plans for a West End transfer of Yusuf Islam’s musical Moonshadow. He took part in the concert version of the show last year, and confirmed that Islam – formerly known as Cat Stevens – is keen to “get it into town” in the near future.
