Fonda Keen to Play Variations in West End???

Veteran actress and fitness guru Jane Fonda told the Daily Mail recently that she is “not ruling out” the possibility of bringing Moises Kaufman’s play 33 Variations, in which she starred on Broadway last year, to London.

The play marked Fonda’s first return to Broadway after an absence of 46 years when it opened at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre in March 2009.

It centres on a terminally ill musicology professor with Lou Gehrig’s disease trying to solve the mystery behind Beethoven’s Diabelli Variations while dealing with her fractured relationship with her daughter.

The production will transfer to LA’s Ahmanson Theatre early next year for a three month run, prior to a possible West End transfer.
