It’s one of those touristy things most Londoners either never get around to or put on hold until they’re entertaining out-of-town visitors. But, if you’re looking for a good reason to book your ‘flight’ on the British Airways London Eye, look no further. Though an official announcement has not yet been made, Whatsonstage.com hears that the Eye’s first-ever performing arts event will be staged in June 2005. For one night only, each of the Eye’s capsules will become a showcase for a variety of theatrical acts, comedians, musicians and other performers. If you have particular tastes, it may sound a bit potluck – considering there are 32 capsules – but there’s nothing to stop you for booking another half-hour flight/performance.
