The Bodyguard joins star-studded line-up of Whatsonstage.com Awards Concert

Blockbuster screen-to-stage musical The Bodyguard has joined the star-studded line-up of the 2013 Whatsonstage.com Awards Concert at the West End’s Palace Theatre on 17 February.

The show, adapted from the hit 1992 film starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner, is nominated for six awards, including Best New Musical, Best Actress and Actor in a Musical for its stars Heather Headley and Lloyd Owen, and Best Supporting Actress in a Musical for Debbie Kurup, all of whom have confirmed to attend.

Directed by Thea Sharrock (who is also nominated), The Bodyguard features classic Whitney songs including “One Moment in Time”, “Saving All
My Love”, “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” and “I Will Always Love You”.

The Whatsonstage.com Awards Concert has become one of the highlights
of the theatregoing calendar. An unmissable night with lots of glitz,
glamour and fun and a chance for you, the theatregoer voter, to take
part in the culmination of the only major theatre accolades decided by
the public.

disadvantaged children and young people with real opportunities to
develop valuable skills for life through drama, movement and music
workshops.
