Show Pics: Rourke Recruits Carroll, Crook & Gatiss for first outing

Josie Rourke‘s inaugural production as artistic director of the Donmar Warehouse, The Recruiting Officer, opens tomorrow night (14 February, previews from 9 February), continuing until 14 April 2012.

Nancy Carroll, Mackenzie Crook, Tobias Menzies and Mark Gatiss star in the production, alongside Rachael Stirling, Gawn Grainger, Nicholas Burns, Kathryn Drysdale and Aimee-Ffion Edwards.

From military manoeuvring to sexual strategies, Farquhar’s The Recruiting Officer, written in 1706, is an unashamed celebration of love, lustiness and victory in battle and in the bedroom.

The Donmar have today (13 February 2012) released production images of the Rourke’s Restoration comedy, which is designed by Lucy Osborne.
