Rachael Stirling proposed to in Vaudeville Theatre dressing room???

Rachael Stirling, actress in An Ideal Husband and daughter of Dame Diana Rigg, was proposed to by fellow actor Oliver Chris in her dressing room at the Vaudeville Theatre.  Rachael, 33, previously romanced by reggae DJ John Lycett-Green, said she was approporiately proposed to in her dressing room with Oliver presenting her a ruby ring he desinged himself. ‘Maybe it’s good luck to have that dressing room- No 2 by the gentlement’s lavatories,’ she said. ‘Maybe we’ll put a little pink plaque up there one day.’  An Ideal Husband tells the story of Mrs Cheveley (Samantha Bond) as she attempts to ruin the career of politician Sir Robert Chiltren (Alexander Hanson) by producing incriminating evidence about his past.  However, she hasn’t reckoned on the faithfulness and good memory of his devoted wife Gertrude (Rachael Stirling), nor the assistance of his philandering friend Lord Goring (Elliot Cowan). This is the first West End performance of An Ideal Husband in over ten years, since the frequent forays of Sir Peter Hall’s long-running revival in 1992 Hurry to see the newly engaged actress in An Ideal Husband at the Vaudevile Theatre before it closes THIS Saturday, 26th of February.
