Josie Rourke begins her tenure as artistic director of the Donmar Warehouse with an all-star revival of The Recruiting Officer, featuring Nancy Carroll, Mackenzie Crook, Mark Gatiss and Rachael Stirling. Until 14 April.

Horrible Histories – Barmy Britain

Horrible Histories – Barmy Britain, based on Terry Deary’s bestselling book series, comes to the Garrick Theatre for a limited daytime run. 

Fitzrovia Radio Hour

The Off-West End and Edinburgh hit begins a month of Tuesday evenings at the Ambassadors Theatre.

What the World Needs Now… The Music of Burt Bacharach

This one-off concert celebrates the legendary composer at Cadogan Hall.

Singin’ in the Rain

Following a sell-out summer in Chichester, Singin’ in the Rain, adapted from the classic MGM film, transfers to the Palace Theatre starring Adam Cooper and Scarlett Strallen in the roles immortalised by Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds.

Island

Nicky Singer’s new children’s show, about a boy holidaying in the Arctic, opens in the National’s Cottesloe, where it continues to 25 February.
