WOS Radio: Jordan Takes Q&A on Pink Carpet

Over 75 Whatsonstage.com theatregoers made their way to the Apollo Theatre on Monday (7 February 2011) to see Leslie Jordan, most commonly known as Beverley Leslie in TV’s Will and Grace, perform his one-man off-Broadway hit show My Trip Down The Pink Carpet. Filled with comically overwrought childhood agonies, dangerous temptations, and revealing celebrity encounters (Boy George to George Clooney) this show delivers a laugh-out-loud take on Hollywood, fame, addiction, gay culture, and learning to love oneself.

Following an energetic performance which saw Leslie dancing to gay anthems and trying to do a little bit of hoola hooping, Jordan headed off the stage and into the stalls where he chatted with Whatsonstage.com theatregoers at our post-show Q&A. He was more than happy to answer all manner of questions – tactfully dodging who in Hollywood he thinks relies on editing over talent. He did tell us about his housemates, known to his producers as his “poodles”, his work off-screen with a charity which operates a suicide helpline and what, if anything he’d change about his past.
