Television presenter Donna Air's forthcoming return to the stage has suffered a setback after the former Big Breakfast host suffered a leg injury in a car accident. Air is due to star in Jeremy Paul’s psychological drama The Watcher, which opens at Waterloo East Theatre on 11 March (previews from 8 March). A spokesman for the production said: "Donna is keen to soldier on - even if that means taking to the stage on crutches like the trooper she is." Air, who rose to fame in children's drama series Byker Grove, bravely tweeted, "I know in the theatre we are told to 'break a leg' before a performance, but I don't think this is what people really mean."
