We’re very pleased to see that two of this year’s Whatsosnstage.com Theatregoers’ Choice Awards are now Broadway-bound. Kerry Ellis, who won Best Takeover in a Role for her performance as the green-skinned Elphaba in Wicked, finishes in the West End production at the Apollo Victoria on 7 June 2008 before taking over the same role in the Broadway production from 17 June. In other exciting news for Ellis fans, the star is currently working on her debut album, which is being produced by Queen’s Brian May (Ellis previously starred in We Will Rock You).

Meanwhile, following its current limited season at New York’s Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), Rupert Goold’s much-garlanded Macbeth starring Patrick Stewart and Kate Fleetwood – which won Best Shakespearean Production in the Whatsonstage.com Awards – will transfer to Broadway’s Lyceum Theatre for a further two months. More congratulations to all concerned.
