Paige, Langford & Sleep Reprise Cats???

By • West End
Not only is speculation rife as to whether the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical Cats will be returning to the West End, but where it will be housed and who will star. Some whispers suggest the feline fest will return to it’s old home, the New London Theatre where it all began some 24 years ago after Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat closes on 2 April 2005 (see The Goss, 27th Jan 2005). But, as previously tipped (See The Goss, 13 Jan 2005), The Evening Standard reports that the musical will be following Jerry Springer into the Cambridge Theatre after it closes on 19 February (see News, 12th Jan 2005) for a limited three-month-run. The Standard also claims that stars from the original production will return for the run including Elaine Paige – reprising the role of Grizabella and her star-making rendition of “Memories”, Bonnie Langford and Wayne Sleep.
