Czech Government Check out Yes, Prime Minister???

As the stage adaptation of the much-loved 1980’s political satire Yes, Prime Minister comes to an end of its West End residency with the show closing on 15 January prior to being recast and hitting the road for a national tour, it has been revealed that Czech Prime Minister Petr Necas has advised his MPs to watch recordings of the original BBC shows. Speaking during a Czech television interview Necas said the sitcom is a “realistic document” that shows how a government really works. Antony Jay and Jonathan Lynn’s BAFTA award-winning political comedy Yes, Minister first aired on BBC2 in 1980 and ran until 1984. It was followed by Yes, Prime Minister from 1986 until 1988. Both of the shows have been shown on Czech television since 2001, with a spin-off book becoming a best-seller in the Czech Republic in 2003. Yes, Prime Minister, which transferred following a successful run at Chichester Festival Theatre, plays the West End’s Gielgud Theatre in until 15 January, beginning a national tour in Brighton on 3 February 2011.
