We spoke to the director of the world premiere of a new play at Sherman Theatre

We spoke to director Rachel O'Riordan about her upcoming production of Bird which opens this week at Sherman Theatre.

It will be the world premiere production of Katherine Chandler's new play, which won a judges award in the 2013 Bruntwood Prize for Playwrighting. It tells of a friendship between Ava and Tash, who are leaving their care home on the cusp of adulthood. The cast includes Georgia Henshaw.

Bird runs at Sherman Theatre from 13 to 28 May and then runs at the Manchester Royal Exchange from 8 to 25 June.
