Nathan Amzi auditions for School of Rock musical with rendition of "Highway to Hell"
When producers of the Broadway-bound musical School of Rock - Andrew Lloyd Webber's adaptation of the 2003 film starring Jack Black - put out a call for auditionees, one name popped into our head, Nathan Amzi.
Amzi, whose theatre credits include Urinetown, In The Heights and Rock of Ages, was a contestant in series 3 of the BBC show The Voice and can be seen in the clip above performing a cover of AC/DC's "Highway to Hell''.
School of Rock follows a struggling rock singer and guitarist (played by Jack Black in the film), who is kicked out of his band and subsequently disguises himself as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. After witnessing the musical talent in his students, Dewey forms a band of fourth-graders to attempt to win the upcoming Battle of the Bands and pay off his rent.
