Synopsis
Described as ?compelling, moving and thoughtful', Speak of Me As I Am is an encounter between Wyllie Longmore and one of the most celebrated but largely forgotten black actors of the 19th Century, Ira Aldridge. Read from a lectern, Wyllie brings to light the hardships Ira faced on his journey to the stage and the prejudice and racism he dealt with on the way.
