Synopsis
Over two weekends in April West Yorkshire Playhouse presents one of the UK's newest theatre festivals, TRANSFORM. Launched last spring the festival brought together some of the UK's most innovative and pioneering theatre makers to show and develop work in Leeds. Building on the success of last year's festival TRANSFORM 12 is braver, bolder and more playful than before: Chris Goode & Company, Nicolai Khalezin & Chris Thorpe and Look Left Look Right have been commissioned to create and develop three new pieces of work specifically for the festival. Fresh from FURNACE, the Playhouse's programme for development, curious directive will present both existing and new pieces of work, and a whole host of inspiring companies including RashDash (another FURNACE participant) Belarus Free Theatre, Little Bulb Theatre, The Paper Birds, Uninvited Guests and many more will perform work never before seen in Leeds. Intimate performances will take place in a specially created pop-up theatre space; interactive adventures will happen in the labyrinth of corridors throughout the building; the Playhouse along with Alan Lane (Slung Low) invites audiences to eat and think at FEAST and some of the most daringly fabulous and hilarious cabaret acts will bring the festival to a close in LES DANGEREUX CABARET.
