Synopsis
Edgy, fun and deliciously naughty, Soho Cinders celebrates the capital's most colourful district and is set to get London's temperature soaring this summer. When impoverished student Robbie becomes romantically involved with engaged Mayoral candidate James Prince, his lap-dancing step-sisters become the least of his problems! James and Robbie's worlds collide forcing them to fight for their own fairy-tale ending in this hilarious, satirical twist on the classic Cinderella story. The potent mix of politics, sex-scandals and true love come together in this contemporary musical with an infectious score that you'll be humming long past the stroke of midnight.
Our Review:

Michael Coveney - 13 August 2012
You come out of Old Compton Street in Soho into Old Compton Street on Morgan Large's design for Soho Cinders, a lively, jaunty, re-telling of the Cinderella story with an outré gay twist.
More of a gay wrench, really, with Tom Milner’s fresh-faced rent boy, Robbie, torn between love for a bisexual mayoral candidate, Jamie Prince (Michael Xavier), and the grip of a nasty businessman, Lord Bellingham (Neil McCaul), who’s Prince’s principal backer.
As the authors - composer George Stiles, lyricist Anthony Drewe and co-librettist (with Drewe) Elliot Davis - explain in a programme note, Soho Cinders has been a long time coming.
But even after workshops and a one-off West End performance last year, the show still has an awkward narrative voice-over (Stephen Fry) and a thinly written, and thinly acted, second half.
