Synopsis A tale of defiance, a shrinking island, synchronized swimming and trying to turn back the tide. By exploring the metaphorical connections between Alzheimer's and Coastal Erosion the play asks, "what is it like to lose everything - your home and your memories?" As with RedCape's previoussuccessful productions The Idiot Colony| , the starting point is true stories. 1 Beach Road draws on interviews with residents of coastal towns in the east of England that are disappearing into the sea and ongoing research into the experiences of Alzheimer's patients and their carers.
