Synopsis
Celebrating 50 years of 'The Street'. The two hour production will take fans through the 7000 episodes and 2000 storylines over the years. Catch Weatherfield’s finest, see all your much-loved characters: Ena Sharples, Hilda Ogden, Percy Sugden, Alf Roberts, Ken and Deirdre Barlow, Curly Watts, Richard Hillman, Karen McDonald, Jack Duckworth, Bet Lynch and many many more. Relive your favourite memories from the programme - see the viaduct collapse, the coach crash and the tram run over Alan. See Frank capture Valerie, Tracy kill Charlie, Todd kiss Nick, and Gail marry Brian, Martin, Richard and Joe! All this reduced to two hours of mind-boggling stage craft!

To tie in with the 50th Anniversary of Britain's longest running soap, Coronation Street writer Jonathan Harvey has adapted, or should I say, condensed the best bits for the stage in the style of Reduced Shakespeare meets The 39 Steps. On the night I attended, Street stars including Barbara Knox, Shobna Gulati and Debbie Rush were out in force to support Harvey. Thankfully, for them and the fans, Corrie! is an absolute riot.
The play features many of your favourite characters from yesteryear and today including some iconic females from Weatherfield, including; Gail Platt, Rita Sullivan, Raquel, Bet Gilroy and Elsie Tanner. Sadly, one of my favourites - Carla Connor is featured ...

Went to see this at Cardiff WMC last night and it certainly got mixed reactions from the audience. The CS faithful seemed to know every line; indeed several of the audience continually spoilt the evening by chatting to one another, pointing out who the character was on stage and the history of their Coronation Street appearances. Not one for younger children. Those who went got bored quickly. Only brief scenes, like the tram and barge, diverted their attention from eating anything from crisps to easter eggs. Not one for a standing ovation, just clean entertainment for the middle aged and above....
