Synopsis
What happens in a fairytale if the story takes the wrong turn in the woods? The Brothers Grimm meet panto with a twist. A childless baker and his wife live under the spell of a witch. In order to lift the spell they must bring the witch a cow as white as milk, a cape as red as blood, hair as yellow as corn and a slipper as pure as gold. On their quest they stumble across a world of familiar fairy tale characters creating confusion and chaos!

Into the Woods performed by The Company, a national Youth Theatre group, features classic fairytale characters but with dark twists and turns. This production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s Tony award winning musical exudes youthful enthusiasm and energy.
The musical tells the tale of a baker and his wife, cursed by the witch next door, as they try to follow their dream of having a child. To do this they must enter the woods, where their lives become entwined with familiar fairytale characters including Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk and Rapunzel. All of the characters ruthlessly set about to achieve their own dreams, only later realising the true consequences of their actions.
The whole cast are excellent, with special mentions to Rebecca Ridout as the Baker’s wife, Rupert Henderson as Jack and Megan Gilbert as Little Red Riding Hood. The comical song "Agony" performed by the Princes, played by Chris and A...

Absolutely amazing, my first experience of the NYT and I have to say I was blown away! I feel I can admire the actors that little bit more being a teenager myself and I could never do anything like that. An absolutely brilliant performance, you should all be proud!...
