Synopsis
Friedrich Durrenmatt’s satirical and experimental black comedy deals with Claire Zachanassian’s revenge against the money worshipping villagers of her native town, Gullen. Full of grotesque humour, the distressing love-story that unfolds has firm roots in folk lore and is given a light touch whilst dealing with serious issues such as hypocrisy, greed, inhumanity and man’s ability to justify his actions - whatever they may be. The Gulleners pave their own way to murder!
