Synopsis
Chorus girl to big star story. Peggy Sawyer becomes a star overnight when leading lady, Dorothy Brock breaks her ankle and she steps into the leading role. The score includes such classics as Lullaby of Broadway, We're In the Money, Dames, Shuffle Off To Buffalo and 42nd Street.

This toe-tapping musical by Mark Bramble is back on tour and is once again delighting audiences with its traditional and well known numbers, dazzling choreography (Graeme Henderson) and they synchronicity of tap dancers rarely seen in more modern musicals.
Set in 1930’s Depression hit America, we meet Peggy Sawyer (Jessica Punch); chorus girl wannabe who finds herself cast in the line of Julian Marsh’s (Dave Willets) new production of Pretty Girl. When leading lady Dorothy Brock (Marti Webb) has an accident and cannot continue with the show, the new girl is thrust in to the limelight and finds herself the star of the show.
Yes, in places 42nd Street is showing its age and it has never been famed for its dialogue but it is in the dancing that this show dominates and comes to the fore. Loved it! Jessica Punch was brilliant, Dave Willets is always good and the whole company were excellent. As the reviewer says...it puts a smile on your face!!...
