Synopsis

An adaptation of the classic Dickens story - the moving tale of young Nicholas Nickleby's adventures after he is thrust out into the world by the death of his father. From tutoring in a monstrous boys school to treading the boards in the bright lights of the theatrical world, his compelling journey has us on the edge of our seats as we wait to see what fate has in store for our hero and his sidekick Smike.

Thoroughly enjoyable. I saw the productions over two consecutive nights and after an excellent first part I was really looking forward to the second instalment . If I had to choose between the two parts I would say that part 1 was marginally more enjoyable but I would put that down to the excellent ending of the light hearted take on Romeo and Juliet. All of the cast members were good but for me Leigh Lawson as Ralph Nickleby was outstanding. A production of this standard is surely worthy of a West End Transfer. ...
