Fred Stride, London Guide - 5 January 2009: starstarstarstar

The performance did not aspire to be West End and the homespun nature did appeal to the audience e.g children, older folks in particular. So with modest pretentions the event was a success with particular credit to the audience who seemed determined to join in and have a good time. I suppose we should admire Brit Ekland for treading the boards when she is obviously past her best(?) but as a fairy godmother she gave the appearance of a superanuated barby doll. Littlewood looked the part as Buttons but didn't sound it, practically every joke fall flat due to poor projection and delivery. I thought the rest of the cast did very well. Cinderella, Prince Charming and his assistant looked, danced and sounded good. The dancing girls were very pretty and leggy squad and deserve better. To sum up it was fun and affordable for a mite unsophisticated audience so ignoring the performances of the two 'stars' it deserves four magic wands out of five. Fred Stride...
