Synopsis
Two just-married gondoliers are summoned to Barataria as one of them is the King of that country - but no one knows which one! They travel there to reign jointly and bring peace out of disunity, leaving their wives behind. A fine romp full of life and vivacity.

This is a real drag. The acting is wooden, the plot has lost any of the sparkle that is usually accustomed to Gilbert and Sullivan, and it is just incredibly dull. I haven't given it a one-str only because the plot and the song lyrics are great, even if you can't hear the latter because of the fancy opera stuff added in and you have to look at the vastly inferior lyric board for help. Not worth seeing for any avid Gilbert and Sullivan fan....
