Synopsis
A powerhouse play in which Shakespeare's Julius Caesar meets the raw reality of an emerging South African nation. In the society of SeZaR, passions run high, democratic principles are pursued against a legacy of trivial conflict and charismatic presidents make or break the fragile body politic. With a stunning charismatic cast of leading Johannesburg actors, Yael Farber's taut adaptation of Shakespeare's tragedy pulsates with a rich languages and ritual of Africa and is brilliantly interwoven with music and dance.
