Synopsis
Seven wise men are jolted violently from eternal slumber. They awake to see their horrific prophecies fulfilled by the demon Time. Trauma and turmoil have taken over an erstwhile paradise. Wailing mothers plead with the wise men to help save their children, and the beautiful patterns created by the sacred women dancing the Ras Lila, are savagely destroyed. Nine Hills One Valley describes the landscape of Manipur - a remote, Indian hill-state bordering Burma. Thiyam weaves a rich and colourful tapestry of movement, music and narrative, exploring the deteriorating condition of Manipur today.
