Synopsis

A sea-monster, a water-spirit, a shape shifter, watching you, calling you, calling us. There is a Taniwha in the Thames. It is something like, yet not quite like, the Maori water spirit of legend. It swims the Effra, the Fleet, the Peck, the rivers of London hidden and exposed. It does not need us, but it likes our attention, feeds on our interest. And its intentions are not always good. The Taniwha knows the mysteries of London and the folklore of the city. It knows your secrets and darkest fears. It is the pull of this dirty and excessive city when you yearn for another home. It is the feeling in the dark places, quiet corridors, long alleyways, of knowing that someone - something - is just ... over ... there.

It submerges itself into the Thames and pulsates through the lives of a group of Londoners. These newly arrived citizens grapple with the idea of home, belonging and the pull...
