Synopsis

I saw this in the double-bill with A Slight Ache. It was another of my rules broken ('No More Pinter!'); I simply can't resist seeing two favourite actors - Simon Russell Beale and Clare Higgins - together for just the 2nd(?) time. It's the better of the two, though I'm not sure I understand what it's about. A Slight Ache was third rate Beckett, clumsily staged. Of course, they were both beautifully acted but oh for the same pairing in a proper play by Shakespeare, Marlowe, Miller, O'Neill, Tennessee Williams, Mamet, Stoppard........
