Synopsis
Named after the Israeli military operation to expel native Palestinians from what was to become the State of Israel in 1948, Plan D is based on oral testimonies from Palestinians who lived through that war. Hannah used the first hand accounts of Palestinians who lived through the war, collected by Eyal Sivan, an Israeli documentary maker, as inspiration for the play. Plan D explores the difficulties real people face when living through the upheaval of war; the threat to their lives and their homes; the need to seek sanctuary; and the terrible prospect of never again returning to their home.
