Synopsis
A delicate exploration of a daughter's love for her father as dementia begins to take hold of his mind, the show uses stunning puppetry, a sizzling soundtrack and features astonishing performances and puppeteering. In a society that is aging, where life plans and pension plans don't match up, what are we going to do with our parents? Suitable for ages 14+

There are no big sets or elaborate plots for Full Beam’s My Baby Just Cares for Me it tells a simple story with a cast of two but it is this very simplicity that gives the piece its emotional impact. The story deals with a daughter struggling to look after her father whose memory and sense of self is deteriorating due to the onset of dementia -while she in turn tries to live her life. With an increasingly aging population the central issue of the play is something which many people will have to struggle with. but the play is not an ‘issues’ play, it is instead a poignant and tender look at a father/daughter relationship.
Peta Dennis plays the daughter who has the sole responsibility of having to look after her increasingly frail father. We watch as she tries to persuade her busy brother on the phone to have some involvement in the situation but is only met with excuses and we also witness her struggle with the bureaucracy of social services as she is ask...
