Synopsis

Dicken's original story of Ebenezer Scrooge and the ghosts of Christmas past, present and yet to come. This story has been adapted many many ways but the true magic and the great mix of fright and delight comes only from returning to the original.

Sell a Door Theatre Company’s updated and abridged version is a festive feast, a Christmas cornucopia of delight, emotionally and spiritually engaging, in every sense, it is the perfect night out and a real reminder of the true meaning of Christmas, even in these hard times.

David Hutchinson and Anna Schneider have done a wonderful job, not only in adapting the text for a 21st century setting, with innovative and inventive dialogue which retains the atmosphere, humour and horror of the original, but in creating a highly original and inventive interpretation that actively enhances the story and emotionally engages the audience.

This is a superb ensemble piece, where this talented team of 11 members not only cover all the parts between them but provide musical accompaniment as street entertainers and carol singers to link the scenes in a seamless flow.

Fringe theatre at its best..fantastic performances all round, especially from lee white as cratchett, and Charlotte Mason-apps, whose singing voice was as stunning as she is to watch. A wonderful show that fills you with Christmas spirit...go go go!!!...
