Synopsis
After hitting the jackpot at Ladies' Day in York, our fish-filleting foursome - Pearl, Jan, Shelley and Linda are celebrating in style with the trip of a lifetime. They've dosed up on Kylie, donned their flight socks, and now the 'girls on tour' are ready to travel the globe and conquer Oz... if the Imodium kicks in that is! While Shelley dreams of luxury and glamour, the gang decide to get 'back to basics' and camp out under the stars. But Shelley soon discovers there's more on offer than posh hotels, dazzling casinos and sun-kissed surfers; and Pearl finds herself with a mountain to climb... From Ayers Rock to the bright lights of Sydney, join our four pommie beauties as they venture Down Under for a trip they'll never forget.

Anne Morley-Priestman - 28 September 2010
For this new production of Amanda Whittington’s Ladies Down Under, director Matt Devitt has reunited four of the actors who played in last year’s Ladies’ Day. A slightly odd play, with a first half of brief scenes where most of what happens to the characters occurs in between, and they appear at intervals on their journey across Australia to report on the big experiences that have so affected them. The second half suddenly morphs into a musical and stand-up routine for the Gay Pride segment. Not really emotionally engaging, but a lot of fun, and well played by all concerned - and I LOVED Shelley's footwear.......
