Synopsis
Opposites attract - but then they're stuck with each other. When a relationship goes stale can a little cheating bring back the spark? Infidelity might drive a couple apart... but then so might monogamy! Over the Threshold is an hour-long contemporary musical about four characters whose lives are turned upside down in one fateful evening.

Over the Threshold arrives in Jermyn Street fresh from a successful run at Edinburgh’s Fringe, clutching the MTM award for most promising music for a new musical. But shows that stand out from the raw mix on display at the Fringe may sometimes get lost in the bright lights of London’s West End.
The evening opens with four thirty-somethings singing about their woes: unemployment; relationships in crisis; and worries about aging. “When will things get better?”, they all wonder. It’s an opening that seems to promise a wide-reaching scope, something for the angst-ridden, recession-hit noughties. Instead what follows is a narrow look at two failing relationships. Hmmm..reading reviews for this show, leaves me amazed that there is such a strong response, which is great to see! I agree with most of the the main review above, especially about the songs 'women like you'a gutsy rendition and charlie's flawless 'please can we leave this behind' this show took me by surprise as I really loved it! but I have to pass comment on some of the musings above! I feel the show has got four great actor/singers involved, Though I have to disagree with the overzealouse response to madalenas performance/singing, she has a powerful voice but in places its harsh, especially her top tones, and I found her dialogue a little 'ACTED' and to 'knowing' and definatly the weaker of the four, but saying that, the weaker is still along way above some of the 'perfomances' I've endured this past few years! I have to say though, I thoroughly enjoyed this show, maybe because I've been in that situaton and can relate who knows, but its definatly got people talking about british musical theatre which can only be a good thing and for £10 Its a steal! Bring on the album..............
