Synopsis Who knocked 'Mad Padraic's' cat over on a lonely road on the island of Inishmore, and was it an accident? He'll want to know when he gets back from a stint of torture and chip shop bombing in Northern Ireland: he loves that cat more than life itself. A wild, satirical, black farce. Running time approx. 2 hours including one interval.

Saw this on Saturday and cannot recommend it enough. The play concerns a psycho killer and torturer from a splinter group of the INLA returning home because his best friend in the world is ill - his cat. Actually as you see in the first scene the Cat is missing half of it's head so is a bit worse than unwell. It is also evident from early on that the Cat's death was not an accident... The first act whilst very good is really setting up the action for an excellent second act.
The play is laugh out loud funny - more genuine laughs from me than Noises Off - but for once the warnings about content really should be noted. It is violent and for one very memorable scene extremely gory.
By the way if you are going make sure that you are in the seats facing the stage - the side view would have been as annoying as hell to me and even worse many of the audience saw much of the play from begind the actors !!
Cheers, Lee.
