Synopsis Lori is coming home from her first term at university. It's only been a few weeks and already things have gone badly wrong. But none of the rest of the family knows, or understands, what really happened. In this fiercely observed family drama, three teenage girls struggle to define who they are, and why, and where they might be going. Upstairs
I tend to agree with Backdrifter when it comes to the play - but not when it comes to the acting which is superb. If you can get a ticket go and see it. The ensemble performances from the young actors is quite extraordinary and keeps the older ones on their toes, and they don't dissappoint either. - rds

A Belfast family nervously await the return of the eldest daughter, who had made a suicide attempt while at university in England. Much of the first half of the play focuses on the tensions between the parents and the two younger daughters as a result of the difficult situation. These are probably the best scenes, as the suicidal daughter's arrival throws things slightly off-kilter owing to the actress's low-key performance - she comes across more as a teen in a strop than someone with a truly tragic streak. The younger sisters are played by actesses still in training and while this shows in some ways, it's actually quite good as their unsophisticated approach helps the depiction of bickering teens and they were, for me, the best thing in it. It's the writer's first professionally staged piece, and that shows too - the play nudges a few areas of possible interest while leaving them more or less undisturbed, but like the actesses she may yet buff her talents to a high shine. - Backdrifter
