Synopsis Elisabeth Doubleday is a very successful estate agent with offices in London and Paris but she leads a double life. Monday to Wednesday the English half, Libby, lives in London with Roger Rodgers, a perfect English gentleman. Thursday to Sunday she is Lisette and goes wild in Paris. She spends her nights dancing and in bed with Pierre Lapin, a perfect, chauvinist Frenchman who is an ex-international soccer player now owns a bistro/piano bar on the Left Bank. For Elisabeth life is perfect. But can she keep all the balls in the air when the two men accidentally meet? Playing Away is a play about stereotypes - about the French and the English, and about what men want and what women want.
Saw this on 18 February. One of the most innovative witty plays I have ever seen. It requires 100% accuracy in delivery of lines by the lady. She made me believe I was in Paris - even I could smell the smells, hear the sounds etc. I was totally immersed in this excellent play. All three actors - perfect. It is a MUST SEE. - 195.93.21.101)
