Synopsis
Contrasting the horror and chaos of the battlefield during the first World War with the comparative comfort of the Austrian home front, Kraus questions the effects of war on society. His brilliantly crafted, satirical response to one of the most important events of the 20th Century challenges our ideas of morality, responsibility and wartime propaganda - with significant implications for our own time.
