Club Night: Wanamaker stars in Nichols' PASSION PLAYView Show Details
A revival of Peter Nichols' dark 1981 comedy PASSION PLAY, starring Zoe Wanamaker comes to the Duke of York's Theatre in the summer. Come on our Whatsonstage.com Club Group Night on 22 July 2013 with top-price tickets to Club members only at the reduced group rate of £42. ABOUT THE SHOW: Directed by David Leveaux, PASSION PLAY reunites him with Zoe Wanamaker, whom he directed in her Olivier Award-winning performance in Electra. The play was last seen in the West End in 2000, when Michael Grandage's Donmar Warehouse revival transferred to the Comedy Theatre. Peter Nichols' play charts the collapse of a 25-year marriage as a successful man, still in love with his wife, is attracted to a younger and sexually voracious woman whose temptations he's unable to resist. As trust collapses, husband and wife Eleanor and James are left floundering and exposed. Wanamaker's recent credits include The Cherry Orchard, Much Ado About Nothing and All My Sons, for which she won a 2011 Whatsonstage.com Award for Best Actress in a Play. Leveaux has been nominated for five Tony Awards as a director of both plays and musicals. His recent London play credits include Arcadia, Backbeat and The Late Middle Classes . *** Please note this is NOT a hosted event. Once you have bought your tickets they are non-transferable and non-refundable. HOW TO BOOK: This is only available to Whatsonstage Club Members |
