View Show Details

ABOUT THIS OFFER:
Simon Reade's adaptation of Jane Austen’s romantic comedy PRIDE AND PREJUDICE is revived at Regent's Park Open Air this summer. Come on our Whatsonstage.com Club Group Night on 24 June 2013 with top-price tickets to Club members only at the reduced group rate of £37.50.

ABOUT THE SHOW:
Written in 1831 Jane Austen's much-loved novel tells the story of the five Bennet sisters and their relentless pursuit of suitable husbands.

Focusing primarliy on the relationship between the second daughter, spirited Elizabeth Bennet and new-to-town Mr Darcy, the nuances and complexity of 19th century class stuggle come to the fore. He finds himself falling reluctantly in love with a woman beneath his class - but can they overcome their pride and prejudice and find love?

First seen in 2009 this adaptation was written by Bristol Old Vic’s former artistic director Simon Reade. His other notable adaptation Private Peaceful, which recently came to the West End, was directed by Reade during his tenure at the Bristol Old Vic in 1994.
