The Show: Recounting the tale of the famous 1925 ‘Monkey Trial’ in Dayton Tennessee, Inherit the Wind charts the trial of the teacher accused of violating The Butler Act by teaching Darwin’s theory of evolution.
Made into a Stanley Kramer film in 1960 starring Spencer Tracey and Frederic March, The Old Vic Theatre will now host the stage production from 18 September. Starring Kevin Spacey whose previous West End experiences include Old Vic appearances such as A Moon for the Misbotten, National Anthems, Richard II and Speed-the-Plow, and directed by one of Britain’s most highly acclaimed directors Trevor Nunn, Inherit the Wind promises to be unmissable.
