When Stella sets off to visit London with her parents, Lord and Lady Saxby, she has no idea her life is in danger! But not everything Aunt Alberta tells her turns out to be true and Stella quickly discovers she's in for the fight of her life against her very own awful Auntie!
Originally written for TV, Dennis Potter's deceptively simple tale relates to the activities of seven West-Country seven-year-olds on a summer afternoon during the Second World War, in a wood, a field and a barn. The children (all played by adult actors) play, fight fantasise and swagger, their aggressions, fears, hostilities and rivalries a microcosm of adult interaction. Easy-going Willie tags along as burly Peter bullies gentle Raymond and is challenged by fair minded John. Plain Audrey is overshadowed by Angela's prettiness and wreaks her angry frustrations on the boys. All of them gang up on the terrified 'Donald Duck' who, abused by his mother and ridiculed by his peers, plays his own dangerous game of pyromania which ends in tragedy.
"No one said nothing. Janet, me, mum, dad. And no one else did either. But they knew, they saw. All that silence." Billy is a ferocious drunk, abuser and dictator to his wife and two daughters; bound to live by his rules, under his regime, under his roof. But with a chance of freedom, can they ever truly be free? A dark chilling tale of fear, madness, and confusion. First staged in 2000 with a cast including Tim Piggott-Smith and a winner of the Writers' Guild Best Original Play award.
When a perfectly delightful trip to the countryside takes a turn for the worse, Bertie Wooster is unwittingly called on to play matchmaker - reconciling the affections of his host's drippy daughter Madeline Bassett with his newt-fancying acquaintance Gussie Fink-Nottle. If Bertie, ably assisted by the ever-dependable Jeeves, can't pull off the wedding of the season he'll be forced to abandon his cherished bachelor status and marry the ghastly girl for himself!
Farce. Passions rise and trousers fall in this tale of murky goings-on in the worlds of publishing and interior design, set in a London flat. Husbands, wives and mistresses tumble out of beds and into wardrobes as more than just the termperature rises.
Becca and Howie Corbett are parents who have all that a family could wish for until one day their world is suddenly turned upside down. Eight months following that life-shattering incident, the young couple find themselves drifting perilously apart. Rabbit Hole charts their bittersweet search for comfort in the darkest of places and for a path that will lead them back into the light of day.
'Was it ever our choice to be the parish church of high finance?' On 15 October 2011 Occupy London makes camp outside St Paul's Cathedral. On 21 October 2011 a building that had kept open through floods, the Blitz and terrorist threats closes its doors. On 28 October City of London initiates legal action against Occupy to begin removing them from outside the Cathedral... Steve Waters' new play is a fictional account of these events, set in the heart of a very British crisis - a crisis of conscience, a crisis of authority and a crisis of faith.
