AND reset dates
When a theatre is 'dark' it means that it is closed. This may be temporary, e.g. between shows, or it may be semi-permanent, e.g. when it is closed for refurbishment (sometimes it is uncertain when this happens whether it will actually open again) and sometimes it means that the theatre is completely out to action, lost or gone!
Kate is at ease playing to 50 people in a folk club or 20,000 people at festivals such as Cambridge. Her increasing popularity means she is in demand throughout the UK and Europe. Growing up in a rich atmosphere of unaccompanied singing has led to a distinctive solo voice. Kate accompanies herself on guitar and piano and audiences will remember her for her dry Yorkshire humour that decorates her performance.
For this special performance, Kate will be joined on the stage of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre by a string ensemble to perform exciting new arrangements of classics from her back catalogue stretching over her two decades of music making, along with tracks from her last studio album, Ghost. As ever Kate will be accompanied by the cream of British folk musicians who form her band.
A singer/songwriter whose lush, theatrical pop harks back to the traditions of Tin Pan Alley, cabaret and even opera.
