Casting announced for Barney Norris' new play

”Echo’s End” will open in Salisbury in March

Casting for Barney Norris' new play Echo's End has been announced.

Alice Hamilton will direct David Beames, Tom Byrne, Oliver Hembrough, Katie Moore, Sadie Shimmin and Robin Soans.

The play is set on the edge of Salisbury Plain in 1915 where two families live in back-to-back cottage. growing up, everyone expected the two children, John and Anna, to marry. But the First World War changes how their lives will pan out.

Norris' first full-length play Visitors was also set on Sailsbury Plain, and premiered at the Arcola in 2014. It won Norris the Critics' Circle Award for Most Promising Playwright, as well as earning him an Evening Standard Theatre Award nomination. Soans also starred in Visitors.

Norris and Hamilton set up the Up in Arms theatre company together after the pair met through Salisbury Playhouse’s Stage 65 youth theatre.

Echo's End has been commissioned as part of Salisbury Playhouse's Original Drama programme.

Echo's End will run at Salisbury Playhouse from 31 March to 15 April, with previews from 29 March.
