One Man, Two Guvnors and Great Britain playwright Richard Bean has revealed the next target for his satirical eye – snooker.

Bean been a busy man over the last few weeks, with no less that four productions gracing UK stages this month, including the upcoming Made in Dagenham, for which he has written the book.

In a recent interview with the Guardian, Bean hinted at some of his future projects, including a comedy revolving around snooker.

According to the interview, the play "will immediately follow the 2016 World Championship on to the stage of the Sheffield Crucible". Let's just hope the actors don't miss their cues.

The Crucible has hosted snooker's biggest tournament every spring since 1977.

Bean, who once worked as a stand up comic, previously tackled another much-loved British pursuit, cricket, in his 2008 play The English Game.

Other Bean projects reported to be in the pipeline include "two scripts" for his hometown Hull's year as City of Culture in 2017; and an intriguing sounding "response play" to a 1970s script by a "well-known northern dramatist".
