Production images have been released of the new production of Eugene O'Neil's Desire Under the Elms at Sheffield Crucible starring Matthew Kelly and Aoife Duffin.

The show is directed by Sam Yates and is part of Robert Hastie's inaugural season as artistic director of Sheffield Theatres. O'Neill's tragedy is about a farmer whose sons work tirelessly, believing the family farm will one day be theirs, until he returns with a new wife.

Kelly stars as Ephraim, while Duffin plays Abbie Putman. The rest of the cast include Claudia Cadette (Woman), Colin Haigh (Old Farmer/Sheriff), Tim Dewberry (Man) Me'sha Bryan (Young Girl), Emma Darlow (Fiddler), Theo Ogundipe (Peter), Sule Rimi (Simeon) and Michael Shea (Eben).

Desire Under the Elms runs at Sheffield Theatres until 14 October.
